Students of the Federal Polytechnics Offa, kwara state trooped out in their numbers to protest against the school management's compulsory hostel policy for all fresh students and the continued postponement of the Students Union Government election.
The protest which started due to the announcement of a later date for the election, which was initially billed to hold on November 23 later escalated into a full blown protest, with students carry placards bearing several inscriptions, and also led to the blockage of the Oshogbo-Ilorin express way for several hours, leading to traffic gridlock on the road.
The School's management has since issued a directive to stop the compulsory hostel payment, and also fixed Wednesday 28 November as the election date.
