Hello All,

I have created a thread before about my Nissan Maxima 99 model.

Now, to the issue, the power steering of this car is so hard to turn.

I have called Gazzuz sometime and he suggestive very brialliatly to me that it could be the car pump or rack.

Someone changed the pump before, not sure who but i discovered that when other pulleys close to the pump are rotating, the pulley attached to the pump will not.

Which causes a friction on the belt, then the belt snaps. I had the buy another belt and same thing happened.

Please for the Love of God, i need a specialist on Nissan + how much does a power steering pump for a nissan maxima 99 go for?

Please.... I cant deal with all these Kazeems no longer!!!

Please help me cry

@Gazzuz abeg epp..

This is why no responses.. Especially if you talked to Gazzuzz already.

Ours cost. N89,790 with a one year warranty and I'm sure you can get a cheaper one but what is the point when you're not even sure it's the pump. Take it to a good shop or even to the person you've been taking to and get it dealt with once and for all.

Clearly, the replacement power steering pump is bad. It needs to still be replaced.

Just get a better mechanic around you and supervise him while he does the work.

If possible go with him to the parts seller and buy only from anyone that will allow you to replace the pump if it doesn't work well.

A good pump should give no whining noise while operating, neither should the pulley be stiff. It must also be devoid of leaks while pumping power steering fluid to the rack at the right pressure.
