The Chief Media Officer, Nigeria Football federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire has been suspended. His suspension follows an embarrassment caused by the electronic player that failed to play the Nigeria National anthem during the Africa U-20 Youth qualifier match between the Flying Eagles of Nigeria and their Guinean counterpart at the Abuja National stadium. Shortly after the Guinea national anthem was played, the same electronic was used to play the Nigeria anthem but the machine got hung. The fans at the stadium started chanting the anthem and mid way the machine picked up. For this reason, he was suspended. When asked, he said the machine was tested and used for the reharsal before the match and he was suprised about the machine sudden failure. He further said the man in charge of the the media room of the stadium was suprised too as he could not say what went wrong when asked by him.

Making the disclosure on Monday, the NFF Acting First Vice President, Obinna Ogba stated “The Chief Media Officer, Ademola Olajire is hereby suspended with immediate effect in the aftermath of the muddling up of the Nigerian National Anthem during the U-20 Africa Youth qualifier on Saturday, July 24, 2010 between Nigeria and Guinea”.
