David De Gea is set to become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world by joining Paris St-Germain in the summer when his contract runs out at Manchester United, according to a report on the Dailymail.

De Gea, 28, has been stalling on signing a new deal at Old Trafford in the knowledge that a bumper £300,000 (N140million) -a-week is on offer at PSG, who could get round any Financial Fair Play restrictions by selling Neymar to Real Madrid and building their team exclusively around Kylian Mbappe.

The Spain international could be set to earn around £15.5million (N7billion) a year in wages with the French giants, taking his potential salary to over £60m (N28bn) if he were to sign a four-year deal in Paris.

United are already looking at a number of goalkeepers who could replace De Gea with England's No 1 Jordan Pickford of interest.
