Why travel to Uganda with 2 jets in the first place?. When is the 1st lady so important that we dedicate one private jet for her to cart her fat behind around. |

Aloy_Emeka:I was wondering same, the presidential jet is a 737 it is big enough to accommodate him and his wife, The best thing is for them jonathan and his wife to enter the same plane, Damn dont they see how yaradua and turai does or dont they watch cnn when other world leaders when they touch down the president and his wfe come out first and start waving to the people that are waiting for them at the tarmac, jonathan no get presidential swag Aloy_Emeka:haha maybe so thats why $212 million was budget in this year budget to buy new presidential planes But i dont think so,hardly do we hear of this our 737 developing fault, |

xterra2: Waste of resources if you ask me. Sending two presidential planes to Uganda for a one day event. The amount they spent hanging those planes in Uganda can employ 10 graduates in Nigeria for at least one year. |

I though Mr Obasanjo bought new jet in 2002. what happened to it? Nigerian President do not need a jet. Flying first class on Nigeria Airways(which they killed) would have done the job. Is that the presidential jet in the pic, a freaking ordinary Boeing 737 that is being wiped out Thats not correct: The 737 has been continuously manufactured by Boeing since 1967 with 6,348 aircraft delivered and 2,061 orders yet to be fulfilled as of March 2010[update].[1] The 737 series is the best selling jet airliner in history |

otawa: That will be an insult to Nigeria. If our pastors can afford a damn jet, then the country should be able to afford one. |
Re: Jonathan Stranded In Uganda by otawa: 1:36pm On Jul 28, 2010 |
Aloy_Emeka: Nope. It is tax payers money. I know many countries more RICH, VERY RICH compare to Nigeria, yet the President has no JET. They are not ready to pay that for him. They dont force you to be President but if you want to be you fly the country's commercial flight first-class. |

Aloy_Emeka: Here you go: The air transport of the King and Prime Minister of Norway is mostly handled by commercial airliners |

Name those countries please? Does the British PM have a private jet? |
Re: Jonathan Stranded In Uganda by asscend: 4:30pm On Jul 28, 2010 |
The British Prime Minister is the chief minister. He is not the head of state thats why he does not have a dedicated jet. |
Re: Jonathan Stranded In Uganda by Beaf: 4:50pm On Jul 28, 2010 |
asscend: The queen is head of state and doesn't have a private jet. We should really be thinking of cutting down on perks our leaders get. Have you heard how many million a senator takes home monthly? It is gross. Yar Adua travelled to Saudi, because we have no worthy hospitals (the few we have look like unkempt mechanic workshops). |

Re: Jonathan Stranded In Uganda by Nobody: 10:46pm On Jul 28, 2010 |
lol Even the Americans do not allocate a separate jet for the first lady. She flies with the president and the second is used as a backup to avoid mishaps like this. Too bad we have leaders who cant think. Jonathan is no better than yar adua. |
