A few days ago. It was reported that the Police had a clash with IPOB in Nnewi, Anambra state. It was initially reported that 2 Policemen and 4 IPOB members had lost their lives as well as two police vehicles being vandalised and that 34 suspected IPOB members have been arrested.

Police force spokesman Jimoh Moshood paraded 33 suspected IPOB members in Awka yesterday and read this statement:

On November 23, there was intelligence report that members of IPOB, an unlawful terrorist organisation, were sighted gathering in their hundreds with dangerous weapons, near Teaching Hospital, Owerri Road, Nnewi, about to cause disturbance of public peace and public safety in Nnewi and its environs.

“Consequently, police patrol teams, led by the Area Commander, Nnewi, ACP Nnanna Oji Ama, mobilised to the scene, to prevent them from causing breakdown of law and order and destruction of life and property.

“The police team, while proceeding to the scene, came under ambush from the IPOB members, and, in the process, a police inspector was killed, two other police officers were seriously injured and one police patrol vehicle was set ablaze.

“The proscribed IPOB members snatched and carted away two AK-47 rifles and one Beretta pistol; with ammunition,”

IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful countered with:

"After hiding a policeman in the sewer, the Anambra State Police Command had the temerity to lie by claiming that IPOB killed a police officer when the said officer was hiding inside the gutter. It was the police that raced to the venue of a peaceful march uninvited and as usual started shooting and attacking IPOB family members who were on a peaceful rally in commemoration of our leader’s reappearance in Jerusalem.

“The pictures accompanying this brief statement show clearly that the stage managed fake death of this police officer never occurred. IPOB did not snatch any police rifle of any sort because we are not a violent organisation.

“If the police ever arrested any person as they are claiming, it is only because they are used to kidnapping people and picking them up without trial in the hope of extorting money from poor families. We are pleased to report that no family member of IPOB that participated in the peaceful protest is missing. The police should release innocent citizens they rounded up, if at all they have some people in their custody as they claimed.”

However, the statement of the Police is laughable as it is shocking:

IPOB posted 3 different videos of the protest on YouTube, none of them showed IPOB holding anything other than flags and banners

They said they were heading to the scene, then got ambushed on the way. How can IPOB be somewhere else but ambush them on their way to the same place? Can the same IPOB group be two places at the same time? Where there two IPOB groups?

What the Nigerian police wants us all to believe is that they were heading to the location of IPOB, armed with AK47's and Beretta pistols, yet unarmed IPOB ambushed them? A group of Police men armed with sophisticated arms and ammunition were ambushed by unarmed IPOB, their guns snatched away from them, one of them is killed and their car is burnt? This story is just as crazy as when the Army claimed last year that they were moving in a 'show of force', armed with machine guns and Tanks, yet IPOB attacked them and tried to snatch guns from them. The average person who sees guns and Tanks will run away but the Army wants us to believe that not only does Unarmed IPOB attack people with AK47's, Berettas and tanks, they also snatch guns away and kill them? Only an idiot can believe such.

Also, the name of the policeman that they claimed was killed was never mentioned and nobody saw any picture police car burning

These guys will not be released. They locked our mothers, sisters and aunts up for good two weeks and they had to pay money to get out.
