Firstly, I know it must be an expensive restaurant in a highbrow part of town.
Secondly, I know it might not just be the food that led to this. most of the time it is the choice of wine... wine is always the most expensive piece of shit on the menu.

Lol. When I was single, I dnt go on dates without my pocket being loaded. No money? NO DATE! Same wif wen I met my husband. And when he proposed? Tld him, "d very day you'ld hit me wld be d end of our marriage" even though he has always been a gentleman. And he understood twas not jst abt divorce only bc you cannot disfigure me nd get jst a divorce. Well, he got d mesg nd we've been living happily since den. Well, he has always been his gentle self nd when he tlks, I LISTEN. If it is Iya Oyo standard, choose that place for the date. Eat your regular, if the guy pays, fine, if he doesn't, comot your 500 naira, pay and go home.

When a guy takes me out on a date, I intentionally go through the menu/price list and choose something regular. If I feel I want to eat something a little bit on the high side, I'd ask him if he is financially disposed to oblige me.
Plus I go with my credit card in case of the unexpected.
