As Nigeria’s election umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had given the go-ahead for presidential and national assembly campaigns to begin, candidates are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring they reach out to their constituents, reeling out manifestos and plans if eventually they are elected into office.

Governorship and houses of Assembly candidates are also gearing up to do same.

Against this backdrop, the All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate in Abia state, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah has officially inaugurated the state and local government leaders of two pro groups “One on One with Uche Ogah” and “Uche Ogah Youth Vanguard” with a charge on them to take the message of liberation of Abia to every nook and cranny of the state.

Inaugurating the groups at his campaign office in Umuahia, Dr. Ogah charged members to remain committed to the course of changing the government of Abia in 2019, stressing that “You have today been licensed to go and work. You are to preach the gospel of Dr Uche Ogah, President Buhari to everyone who is 18 and above, notwithstanding the person’s religion or party affiliation.

“The message is simple. Ask them if they want their salaries paid as and when due, if they want industries, if they want visible infrastructure, if they want employment, if their answers are yes, then tell them that Uche Ogah is the answer.

“Tell them that if he can as an individual build an industry that has employed thousands of local and foreign expatiate, he will surely change the State.

“Then as you preach, commission them to also go with the same message to others. That’s the way to get the work done. Tell them he has not come to share Abia money but to use it judiciously.

“Strength of character is what abia demands, and you have shown that you have it and you’re demanding for change.

“We are not going to borrow money but will use Abia money to develop Abia. With the natural resources God has blessed Abia with, we will harness every bit of it and Abia will be great. The change you want is here. All we need is commitment and show of strength and character.

“For us we want election to be done properly. And we are ready to go to debate with the incumbent. The other day some charlatans said we cannot face the camera. We are ready to face them in a debate. We will tell Abians what we want to do.

“The campaign will be issue based. We don’t intend to talk about the evil they have done, but we will let Abians know what we will use the state’s resources for if given the opportunity to lead them.

“My promise to you is that there is a great job to be done, they’re going about buying people with money but what we have is more than money. If you’re given money you’ve been bought and won’t have the conscience to demand accountability.

I can assure you that we will win 17 over 17.”

Also speaking, the Director general of Uche Ogah Campaign Organization, Barr. K. C. Ugboajah emphasized that all hands much be on deck to ensure Dr. Uche Ogah’s emergence as governor come 2019

“That shows me that we have come to the end of corruption, incompetence and very soon, Abia will rejoice because God has anointed Dr. Uche Ogah to lead the state to God height, and Abia will surely rejoice.”

Everything in this state is nothing but fraud, but very soon, they will give account of their stewardship in this state. No more will workers be owed salaries, pensioners be owed their pensions, and we are assuring that by 29th May 2019, PDP and the governor will leave the government house and God will usher in the chosen one, who is Uche Ogah.

Abians are not happy, they are bitter. This is time for everyone to wake up, it’s not time to sit on the fence. Don’t allow any person to intimidate you, we are in power, we are in control.
