I'm Digital marketing expert and Copywriter. I also teach small businesses in Southeast Nigeria how to grow their businesses through proper branding, internet marketing and the use of digital technology.

Early this month, I had a contract to teach the management and staff of a Newspaper corporation based in Anambra State (It's actually owned by the state government) on Productive online journalism, branding, digital marketing and website monetization.

Apparently, the MD was impressed by the impact of my training, then he made me an offer:

"What will it take for you to be our consultant," he asked.

You see, I've always worked on a contract basis, and he said they can't afford to pay me on contract.


Now, my question is this:

How do consultants charge their clients?

Is it per consultation? (Which might not go down well with my client)

Is it per week?

Is per month? (Which I don't really like)

What's the best payment schedule for a consultant?

I need answers from experienced people, please.
