The British, Times higher education ranking Organization which accesses Universities on 13 carefully selected and calibrated indicators under 5 pillars; Teaching(30%), Research(30%), Citation(30%), Industry Income(2.5%), Internationalisation(7.5%) has today ranked Covenant university as the first Nigerian university to ever feature in the top 1000 engineering and technology ranking.

No Nigerian University in Computer science ranking: it is worthy of note that none of Nigeria's three universities which qualify for assessment and data collection(CU, UI, UNN) under Times could make it to the top 800 rankings for Computer science.

Times Higher Education is the leading consultant to MIT, Stanford and other World Class Institutions.

Private universities are the future of Nigeria's educational system. If you disagree please wear a condom after 2 kids. I simply cannot see any Nigerian government spending 25 percent of its budget on education under this structure...

Sorry if I'm misunderstood. I mean 25 percent will bring the quality of all government institutions anywhere near the levels we see the top private universities operating.

Just maybe the growth of the Nigerian church is a product of corporate discipline. Winners has more universities than Lagos state yet it managed to take one of her two universities to world ranking. While Lasu cannot realistically enter the Times Ranking in the next 7 years.

The Winners secondary school produced the highest jamb scorer for this year. Isreal galadima of faith academy scoring 364 in jamb and 8As in waec.

Some may say the church uni charge fees but are they the only ones? Baze with 5 milla fees can't be recognised by Times in the next 10 years.

Incase some of you don't realise it Covenant is already doing joint masters with MIT. While still collaborating with Cambridge.

Enter Landmark and see facilities that would make you faint in awe. The day i entered landmark i didn't want to leave the place. And landmark a 7 yr old uni is already planning to enter world ranking in the next 7 yrs.

I can only imagine what will happen if these churches build industries. Churches i beg una build industries too. Shame the govt and build industries and employ millions of us. I beg you!

Covenant University and pan Atlantic University (Lagos business school) are two of the best private universities in the country. Infact the MBA program of Lagos business school is 1 million times better than the likes of Unilag and u.i. covenant is excellent overall. Even the way covenant students and graduates dress you must bow. Special shout out to Babcock as most of their graduates are doing big things in the IT sector in Nigeria such as paystack founders. Afe babalola University graduates are also killing it in law. My point is no University should be a jack of all trades. They should take up one or two fields and fund it heavily such that even if you don't make it on times ranking,your alumni will make an impact on the nation. But don't get it twisted private university graduates are killing it in Multinationals ,private sector and even public sector and age is on their side.babcock graduate of 21 years old I met has finished her bsc, nysc and just rounded up her MSc at Warwick uni. Plus she's already ICAN certified O. The truth is that in most cases if your parents can afford to send you to a premium private university such as Babcock or covenant, more likely than not they can also fund your masters degree overseas and also flex their connect to get you a good job here in Nigeria . God bless all Nigerian students both private and public and also graduates . I pray the ASUU strike is called off soon O .
