2019: Coalition Uncovers Plot by APC to Blackmail Enugu Governor


Ahead of the official lifting of the ban on governorship and state houses of assembly campaigns by the Independent National Electoral Commission on 1st December, a frontline socio-political pressure group known as Enugu Youth Coalition has uncovered plots by Senator Ayogu Eze Campaign Organisation and the Enugu State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress to blackmail, scandalize and raise false and frivolous claims and accusations against the Enugu State Government.

This is coming on the heels of the declaration of seven days of fasting and prayers by the state chapter of the People's Democratic Party to commit the general elections in to the Hands of God.

In a statement released to newsmen in Abuja, the national coordinator of the coalition, Dr. Edwin Obune noted that arrangements have been concluded by the opposition to launch ''Joseph Goebbels'' and the ''Nazi'' styles of political propaganda against the government of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and his re-election bid next year.

The statement further noted that Joseph Goebbels was a propaganda chief to Adoph Hitler who was notorious for saying ''A lie told once remains a lie, but a lie told many times becomes the truth.''

In lieu of this, the Enugu APC and it's factional governorship candidate, Senator Ayogu Eze plans to use crude lies, financial inducements and emotional manipulations to goad their members in the state in to causing confusion and later turn around to blame it on the state government.

It can be recalled that some chieftains of the party in the state have been threatening war in the coming general elections in Enugu as investigations have further revealed that the party is currently training thugs in different locations in nearby states so as to import them to the state to come and wreck havoc on the people.

Their thugs are undergoing intensive treaning in Ogwugwu in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State while the rest are being trained in Ugboloko in Bassa Local Government Area of the same Kogi State, Auchi in Edo State and Anuku in Anambra State.

The opposition who has been boasting of using federal might in the state's election but don't know how to make such request from the Presidency also plans to instigate crisis in the state so as to have good ground to request for such assistance from the presidency.

The Ayogu Eze Campaign Organisation have also recruited some mushroom organisations like the Enugu State Leaders and Stakeholders Forum to be fabricating incriminating lies as well as using such non-existing allegations to be calling the attention of the Federal Government with the believe that such action will bring colition between the State Government and the Federal Government.

In similar vein, we have it on good authority that the factional APC governorship candidate has been lobbying some APC chieftains in Abuja to impress it on the Presidency to change both the state Commissioner of Police and the state Residence Electoral Commissioner as well as withholding Enugu State share of the Federal Allocation for three months so as starve the state of funds to meet up with its responsibilities to the people.

However, we are aware that the Presidency has remained adamant to granting such requests on the premise that it will not speak well of it.

While we highly commend the Presidency for rejecting such request, we still implore it to continue to remain adamant to granting such Satanic request by Senator Ayogu Eze who has been dragging the reputable name of President Muhammadu Buhari to the mud in the state instead of marketing his re-election bid.

Finally, while we call on Ndi-Enugu to remain steadfast in their noble supports for Gburugburu and his re-election bid, we also call on the electorates as well as all political parties in the state to conduct themselves and their activities in an organised and peaceful manner reflective of the existing peace and tranquility in the state devoid of rancours, hate or inflammatory speeches.
