The Student Aid and Financial Assistance Initiative is a charity initiative by Student Aid Nigeria designed to help students in tertiary institutions finance the cost their education, books, living expenses and other sundries.

Student Aid Nigeria uses the student aid and financial assistance program to help post-secondary students pay for their education. The program allows students to obtain free non-repayable funds as to finance their education. Student aid and financial assistance are generally offered as part of a total financial aid package that may include grants, scholarships, or work-study opportunities.

Student Aid Nigeria will provide financial support to 100 eligible students in accredited public/private universities, polytechnics and colleges of education across the six geo-political zones in Nigeria in the form of scholarships, study grants and loans which will cover tuition, book allowance and stipend (pocket allowance). The scholarship award is N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira only) per student while study grants/loans shall be dependent upon individual student's application but subject to a maximum of #100,000 (one hundred thousand naira). The scholarships, study grants and loans will be awarded to both full and part-time students in universities, polytechnics and colleges of education as well as prospective students including those currently in pre-degree/remedial programs and those who sat for the recent 2010/11 UTME examinations.



GEOGRAPHICAL COVERAGE
Scholarship will be made available to qualified and successful candidates from every state of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

ELIGIBILITY
Candidates must be full/part- time undergraduates in public universities, colleges of education as well as polytechnics in Nigeria or prospective students who sat for the 2010/11 UTME.
