Application for YEDI recruitment 2019 is currently invited for applicants living in Akwa Ibom State. Deadline: February, 2019. An interested applicant for YEDI recruitment is to submit their CV from January 21st, 2019.

To apply for YEDI recruitment 2019 in Akwa Ibom State, interested candidates must first know the curriculum for which he/she is applying for. There are three curriculum in the YEDI-Grassroot Soccer Program and the include;

Basic Skillz Curriculum
Advance Skillz Curriculum
Skillz Girls Curriculum
However, the Skillz Girlz Curriculum Coaches are usually female coaches, while Basic and Advance Skillz Curriculum is open to both male and female applicant. It should be noted that YEDI employs gender sensitivity in it recruitment process, as such, the need to maintain gender equity is paramount. Suffice to say that both male and female members of the public can apply with no fear of bias or favoritism. More so, interested applicants should note that the platform for YEDI’s recruit for 2019 coaches is open to everyone, regardless of state of origin, place of birth, tribe, language, sex, culture, belief, and sexual orientation.

The most important thing to note is that selection and appropriation of the successful coach into their respective curriculum may be left to the management’s discretion and decision.

About YEDI

YEDI, which is an acronym for Youth Empowerment and Development Initiative, is a Non-Governmental Organization/ adolescent health organization in Nigeria, which was established since 2011, with its headquarters at Lagos. YEDI as an adolescent health organization educates, empowers, and inspires youth and community development in Nigeria using sound proven models that get results. YEDI delivers programs that build to young people’s assets, facilitate their access to health services, and promote their adherence to healthy behaviors.

The YEDI model trains young adult mentors as community change agents to implement age-appropriate and gender-sensitive curriculum that combine soccer metaphors and activities, with high impact health information that engage youth and break down cultural barriers with deep experience in adolescent reproductive health, HIV prevention, testing and linkage to care, gender-based violence prevention, malaria prevention, positive youth development and community mobilization.

YEDI is currently operating in 5 states in Nigeria and is currently recruiting coaches into the YEDI-GRASSROOT SOCCER program.

Eligibility for Application (Who can apply for YEDI Recruitment 2019 in Akwa Ibom)
Applicant must be above the age of 18years
Applicants must be residents in the following LGA’s: Uyo, Onna, Eket & Oron.
Applicants must have a good physique.
Applicants must be physically fit.
Applicant must be ready to work as a team.
Applicants must have bank account bearing their names.
Sc holders should apply, however, applicants with SSCE must have been a graduate of the Grassroot Soccer Intervention and must have obtained a YEDI certificate from any of the Skillz Curriculum, as this is the most advantage you have.
Applicant must be lively and charismatic.
Applicants must have a good command of English.
Applicants must be a lover of sport.
Applicants must be ready to work independently.
Applicants must be ready to work first before payment.
Applicants must be familiar with roads and places in your community of deployment.
Applicants must be flexible.
Applicants must be punctual to work.
Applicants must be innovative.
Applicants must be able to improvise where necessary.
Applicants must be ready to attend emergency meetings, whether arranged or impromptu.
Applicant must have a smartphone with Whatsapp working on it. This will aid you in getting information directly from the state coordinator in terms of postings and meetings.

Qualification and Requirements

As stated earlier, B.Sc holders should apply, however, applicants with SSCE must have been a graduate of the Grassroot Soccer Intervention and must have obtained a YEDI certificate from any of the Skillz Curriculum, as this is the most advantage you have.
Successful candidates will be required to work and abide by time approved him or her to exert interventions. Some of this time will be allowed for coaches to decide for themselves before letting the management know. However, this time can be negotiated sometimes to suit both parties.
Successful candidates must reside in the LGA’s of YEDI’s coverage. That is to say that, coaches must live in or stay close to the communities of YEDI’s Grassroot Soccer Program.
You must be a team player.
You must have a good command of English.
You must be familiar with streets, places, and schools in your community or L.G.A
You must be able to respect higher authorities.
You must be smart.
You must be cheerful.
You must always be punctual to intervention
You must be ready to submit your M&E on time.
You must be sociable.
Applicants applying for the post of a Skillz Girls coach must strictly be a female.
Both boys and girls can apply for the Basic and Advance Skillz curriculum.
