Getting started is usually difficult for some people and that's why personal branding is no child's play. It is easy to fake certain things but going that route doesn't last and won't pay off. That's why the start of personal branding starts inwardly.

WHO DO YOU WANT PEOPLE TO SAY YOU ARE?

Create the image of the future you and write it out clearly.

STEP 1

Self-awareness is the first step toward building a personal brand. Know thyself! This has to do with your reputation.
- What do people know you to be?
- Who are you? No one knows you except you.
- How do you want to be perceived?

STEP 2

Tell your story and live it. You have to show who you are. How you do everything defines you - eat, play, talk, walk etc. Ensure that your story is attention-grabbing, relevant and memorable.

STEP 3

Build a community. Deepen your relationship. Remember that you are in the market to impact and it is your job to stand out. It is your job to do your job really well. A brand always starts with a value then proceeds to have integrity. Show up every day to communicate and listen to your audience. What step(s) are you currently taking to build an irresistible personal brand?
