Many developed countries are reaping the fruit of their research finding, some of these findings are being transferred to developing countries through training but are yet to be implemented and utilized.
A large scale farmers need thousands of planting materials for establishment, these materials can be obtained easily from Tissue Culturing technique in laboratory. These materials being so tender pass through 2 stages of hardening in a shade house before transferring to farmers.
During these processes jobs are created.
Value chain in banana and sugar cane are
1. laboratory to generate in vitro plantlets
2. primary and secondary hardening
3. cultivation on the farm
4. marketing of produce to consumers or industry
Banana is expensive because we do not have large farmers cultivating it unlike plantain. Also banana consumption in Nigeria is low because it is costly. Banana is being seen as a good source of income from selling local and from exporting.
The health benefit of banana are enormous,
it is a good source of fibre,
contains good level of protein, contains amino acid tryptophan which helps in brain function,
contains potassium which helps maintain blood pressure and keep sodium on blood pressure at minimal (we know we get sodium from common salts from all kinds of cooked and processed food we consume), So we need to balance this with potassium.

Sugar cane can be used in the industry to produce all kinds of sugar, sucrose, glucose etc, iceing sugar. Even ethanol and biogas. In India, a sugar cane industry supplies electricity to surrounding villages.

Contact us if you wish to go into large production of banana for both export and domestic purposes. Don't miss the opportunity
