THE HONOURABLE MEMEBER OF THE HOUSE MY CAR GEAR CONDITION IS NOT STABLE.I DISCOVERED THAT SLOW OF THE CAR WAS TOO HIGH SO I TOOK IT TO A MAN THAT SPECIALISES ON INJECTOR ENGINE TO ADJUST THE SLOW OF THE CAR THE SLOW USED TO BE BETWEEN 1AND 2 OF THE SLOW METER ON THE DASH BOARD AFTER THEN THE SLOW IS NORMAL BUT THE GEAR DOESNT CHANGE REGULARLY AGAIN AND MOST OF THE TIME IT REMOVES ITSELF FROM GEAR WHILE DRIVING THAT I VE TO SWITCH IT OFF AND ON AGAIN AND ATIMES THE D LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD FLASHES AND AM SO AFRAID THAT I DONT KNOW WANT TO DO AGAIN.THIS GEAR USED TO DISENGAGE ATIMES WHEN THE SLOW WAS HIGH BUT NOT AS REGULAR AS IS IT NOW.PLEASE I NEED YOUR EXPERT ADVICE HONOURABLE MEMBER OF THE HOUSE.

Check that the ATF (Transmission fluid) is up to the required level.

If it is, it may be worn out so you may need to drain it and replace with ORIGINAL fluid!

i assume that u belong to the new generation of intellectuals and beside that u took d cart b4 the horse, what u shuold have done wit d car is to scan b4 taking to ur rewire, i strongly and believe that the gear selection module has nw been overstress and ur gear valvebody need 2 b check b4 one can say the gear is bad, nevertheless try 2 smell ur gear deep stick (gauge stick) smell ur atf oil if smell like burnt then prepare 4 d worse but if not i scan it, are u in lagos if yes the better. call 08032016668

I JUST SERVICED THE GEAR ON SUNDAY THOUGH IT WAS EARLIER SERVICE WTH A WRONG GEAR OIL KNOWN AS VISCO 2000 BUT I WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD VE USED ATF WHICH I CHANGED ON SUNDAY .IT ONLY WORKD FINE BUT WHEN I DISCOVERED THE SLOW WAS HIGH I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO MY REWIRE WHO SPECIALISES ON INJECTOR.THE SLOW RUNS FINE NOW BUT THE GEAR FAILS OFTEN AND JUST SMELLED THE GEAR OIL STICK AND IS NOT SMELLING BURNT.THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE AND I STIL NEED MORE CONTRIBUTION.THE D LIGHT OF THE GEAR SELECTOR ON THE DASH BOARD FLASHES AT TIMES AND THE GEAR ALSO DELAYS B4 CHANGING IF IT CHANGES AT ALL.

Throttle body should never be adjusted to increase/reduce idle speed. It is controlled by the computer if its high/ low its either the throttle body is dirty or you have a vaccum leak(air).

you have done a lot of bad things to this car, without knowind the condition of your transmission and how long you used it with engine oil in it all we can say is to keep draining and refill with the recommended fluid [b]Honda ATF-Z1[/b]or any ATF that is Z1 compatible(written on bottle).
Between the transmission and torque converter you might have 3 gallons of ATF that is contaminated with 1/2 gal of engine oil(like mixing petrol and diesel).
You have to drain and refill at least 6 timeswith short drives between drains to recirculated fluids.

With D blinking Scan car, Way too much induced fault to be diagnosed on line.

@ sultan, thanks for your response,I only used it with the oil for 2 days b4 I discovered that I used wrong gear oil I was misled by my mechanic and I quickly changed it that day the present gear oil that is there right now is ABRO ATF TYPE A.please I need your advice ,could it be a serious problem? and what do u think I should do please?

I looked for ABRO, and I'll say they have no spec on their site.You should not be using such low quality no name fluids for your car.

When you drained transmission you only replaced part of the total volume not all. ATF is not an oil its a synthetic fluid, same way you can't add engine oil to brake fluid, So you have to flush all trace of oil out of your system for the ATF to regain its characteristics(that is why I used the word contaminated)

You should also check the fluid level; with warm engine running car parked on levelled ground, move transmission to neutral and check dipstick twice, if over filled adjust.

You are driving a modern car the things that apply to danfo does not apply to it. Different technology, components requirements.
Most oils have 2 main components, the base oil and additives a low quality oil with minimal additive cannot be used when there is a specification made foryour transmission

Thank u all for your professional advice on my car,I took the car for scanning today and computer gave out the following codes:45-06 SHIFT MALFUNCTION F AND 45-01 SHIFT MALFUNCTION, as the problem affecting the gear that makes it to disengage when moving on traffick or when I slow down but it doesnt disengage while speeding i still need your advice .I have as well changed the gear fluid today and it changes very smoothly except on hold up orwhen am moving slowly and engine is runing below 20 on speedometer.

Honourable memeber of the house ,I scanned my car yesterday and following codes were detected as the problem affecting the my gear.the codes are 45-06 shitf malfunction F and 45-01 shift malfunction.I please need your professional advice .

Looks like the wrong ATF was the origin of the problem and now that you have used the right one, its getting better - however, from the details you have given, there is one more thing you need to do; the rewire guy needs to undo the reduction he did on your vehicle, so it can run normally.

I could not find the meaning to those codes anywhere, the person who scanned it should have fixed it(if he was a good mech).

Now the problem might be as simply as transmission fluid level, to disconnected sensor.

But first you need to confirm if the ABro fluid you added is type a or dextron III(not same) it will be written on bottle.

if you read my post again one change out is not enough, it will be done over time till there is no sign of engine oil in the A/T red fluid.

Do not pull anythhing apart, all you are trying to do here is make sure your connectors are intact(for sensors on your transmission), and your fluid is as good as new with no contamination by engine oil(dissolved enigine oil changes hydraulic property of fluid which might affect the way clutches work. The codes will go away when the computer senses that the shift is smooth.

Thank u all for your meaningful contribution,@ sultaan I used Abro dextron 111 fluid now which i believed is more compatible wth the recomended ATF -z1, which I could not get so I opted for dextron 111 though based on the site u refered me to Dextron 4 should ve been better but I cant get it here.For now the gear runs smoothly except once in a day that disengage but I believe if i continue wth the treatment it will be normally fully again .Pleaseif there is anything to add please i will be waiting for it,thanks all and appreciate u all.
