Why It Would Be Difficult To Grow Organically On Instagram In 2019 by faceland: 6:40am On Dec 26, 2018 |
It’s no secret that the engagement on Instagram is dropping as the days goes bye. When you post a picture with all the hashtag, profile-tags and Geo-Location, you still get a small fraction of what you use to get some 3 or 4 years ago. That means the likes (hearts), comment, and share on new post are not encouraging when compared to the results from a few years ago. This is partly because of the acquisition of Instagram by Facebook (who has been slowly implimenting new policies that would boost their profit) Next year (2019); Instagram is going to be ‘pay to play’ platform. What that means is; for you to get seen, you would have to pay for advertisement. Even if you have a huge following, your content is currently been shown only to about 5% of your followers (this is partly why most expert on Instagram-Marketing would advise you to make an average of 3 post a day, posted at different times of the day to reach 10% of your own followers). Unfortunately, producing this volume of content is not sustainable even for a full-time social media marketers. As they say, nothing is really free. Especially for those of us with a Business profile (and not a personal profile). If you decide to use their ads services, please make sure you have written down strategies on converting viewers into clients (ROI: Return On Investment) or you would waste your money. SOLUTION: 1) Post More: If you can post more often and space out the period between each post, go for it! 2) Use All Their Features: Instagram rewards those who use all their features like hashtags, Geo-Location, tagging NOT JUST ON POST BUT ALSO ON STORY 3) Call for Action: Remember to always ask you audience to ‘double tap’, comment and share. You don’t just ask them directly, you could ask a question or ask for their opinions. Give them a reason to share. You could also do a giveaway where the entry qualification is dependent on how active someone is on your profile. 4) Quality Content: I hope you have heard of the phrase “content is king”? Take great pictures and videos. Instagram is moving more towards video but your video has to be clear and stable (nothing too perfect but DON'T be sloppy). Please share your tips and thoughts if you have one. |

This was before Instagram Reels and all the other updates... So it is obsolete. |
