#How Buhari Seized Awolowo's International Passport, placed Ooni of Ife, Emir of Kano, Obi of Onitsha under house arrest

Before you read this, first google Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Read what he represented to the Yorubas then and the roles he played in the infrastructural development of the Yoruba States. I was a beneficiary of Awolowo's Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) Free Education Program in which students for FREE TEXTBOOKS, EXERCISE BOOKS, Biro, Pencils and even Mathematical Sets. I also benefitted from the Free Health Program in which my mum only needed to take CLEAN EMPTY BOTTLES to the Hospital to take drugs. I still remember how those Nurses will rain abuses on mothers for not bringing their children to the hospital on time.

#Now the real story:
Major General Muhammadu Buhari seized power from democratically elected President Shehu Shagari on December 31, 1983 and held power till August 27, 1985.

Sometimes in 1984, the home of Chief Obafemi Awolowo was invaded by armed soldiers, valuable documents were carted away. Most importantly, Awolowo's International Passport was SEIZED.

In 1985, Awolowo was sick and needed to travel abroad for medical treatment. Buhari refused to release his International Passport and he couldn't travel abroad for Medicare. In 1987 (TWO YEARS after Buhari denied him the opportunity of receiving Medicare abroad), Awolowo died!

Buhari's wickedness did not start yesterday, Awolowo was a victim. The late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade was a victim. Late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero was a victim. The Obi of Onitsha, H.R.H Obi Ofala Okechukwu Okagbue was also a victim. The offence of the three monarchs was travelling to Israel and for this, they were placed under House Arrest for SIX MONTHS.

If those below 40 were taught History in school, they would have seen the real Buhari...
