Hello Everyone, Pls I would love to be added to any Calgary whatsapp group. Running my program at the University of Calgary. It would be great to mingle and make some Nigerian friends in Calgary. It could get really boring here. Thanks 3 Likes 1 Share |

In the spirit of giving back, here is my landing gist. Landing Gist Thank you, Jesus - - the giver of everything. Truly, nothing I have is truly mine. You are my all in all. So, I flew from Wisconsin to Illinois (25 minutes) and from Illinois to Toronto (57 minutes). Got to Pearson around 9:45pm. We were not given any declaration document on board. I had just a very small bag with me. I didn't check in any bag. Getting to the airport, I used one of the machines there for declaration and I printed out a receipt. While at it, I answered "no" to almost every question except one that asked if I would be bringing some goods later. After that, I proceeded to passport control. When I got there, I told the officer I came to establish residency and he directed me to the right quarters. There was no queue at all when I got there. A nice lady called me and she collected my COPR and passport. She asked if I was ever convicted of any crime and I answered in the negative. She asked for my address in Canada and I gave her my friend's address. Those were the ONLY questions I was asked. She told me to keep my COPR safe as I would be needing it for many things in the future. "That's it," she said. I was like "wow, so fast(?!), thanks, have a good one." And she said "you too, bye." Then I proceeded to customs for Goods-to-Follow documentation. I gave the officer the pre-filled forms I downloaded online. He collected it and told me to sit down for a few minutes. He did all he was expected to do and after some 4 minutes or thereabouts, he called me by my middle name (which is a Christian name). At that point, I was like "hahaha, e be like say this name is what these people will be calling me o." Not like I don't like the name, I just prefer my Yorùbá name jare. But no wahala. Anyways, the officer gave me the pre-filled form back, now stamped and stapled with a new document. That was it. Nothing was asked. The whole process from arrival to leaving the airport took probably just 15 - 20 minutes. My friend came to pick me up to his apartment. Some 7 minutes drive from the airport. Had a nice meal and I went straight to sleep. Before I slept though, I checked online and saw that PR card application was initiated already. Will be getting my SIN and opening a credit union account today. Why credit union? Well, the only "bank" account I have in the US is a credit union account and I LOVE IT! I haven't had any issues with it 5 years and counting. I am guessing credit unions here will be similar. Plus, I am pretty conservative when it comes to money. So, I don't see any reason why I won't do the same in Canada. And about the cold. People keep talking about Canadian cold like it's going to be ridiculously crazy. Frankly, the Wisconsin I left yesterday was way colder than the Toronto I landed at. I was hoping to see something that would knock Wisconsin off the chart. Of course, I know Toronto is not the coldest place in Canada. Based on my experience so far, Canadians are quite laid back. And I mean it. I will be here for just a few days. Godspeed, everyone. 53 Likes 4 Shares |

Hi In my Opinion this is a scam. 1st . A linkedin search of the company did not produce any result on Quebec, which is supposed to be their office location. 2nd. look at this link https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/ehd-initiative.672144/ 3rd This address ( 12 Street Regis Blvd,Montreal, QC) puts you in front of a Temple of Murugan.... 4th. The only review for that EHD was done by one Julius Olu , who did other reviews in Uganda. That is my Opinion.....Peace 7wonder: 9 Likes 1 Share |

SoftWorking: This is not true. Your job responsibilities only have to align with OID- Occupation in demand. Then if you work in a regulated profession, then your degree must align with the job. |

Yakay: So for NOC 6235- Financial representatives, what course of study do you want to present for this? Mind you I know people who got their ITAs recently. I don't know the degree that relates you financial sales. You only need to have a degree if the minimum education is a degree, but your job present job responsibilities must align. 1 Like |

ebixxx:Apologies for the late response.. In regards to the questions: 1. There is no bridging program for IMGs as seen with the Nurses 2. Pathways will be hugely dependent on your background.. Clinical pathway.. Residency, Practice Readiness, Physician/Surgical Assistant and these varies from Province to province Non Clinical pathways can be further divided into two viz: regulated and unregulated.. For the regulated non clinical pathways: sonography, Emergency Responder, Nursing, Pathology Assistant, Physiotherapist, OT, Naturopathic etc Unregulated non clinical: Research Assistant, Health educator, Transcriptionist, Health Care Aide, hospital clerk etc Now the decision would be solely individualized as it fit one's long and short term plan, coupled with family and province of resident. I hope this help 3 Likes 3 Shares |

rotile247:Just be careful so that scammers don't swindle you for your hard earned cash. Immigration to any party of Canada goes via the Federal government. Having those listed there can get you a visiting Visa (though no one can guarantee you that even) but certainly not a permanent resident status. Read the official immigration website for further information |

Hey Bro/Sis, Don't take chances.....For SINP , your education must match with your JD....It is in rare cases, they give nomination to people whose job doesnt match and i noticed that was before their OID was revised.... bankylan: 1 Like |

19CannyMum:There is an exception for landed immigrants, not all registry agents know this but if you go with all your landing documents that were given at the port of entry (with your SIN), you have satisfied the requirement to write a knowledge test. Never heard of the void cheque scenario though. |

Sorry for my question please. I am processing my entry into Canada. But from my reading here, it seems like even in Canada one goes through stress. Is it a case of one stress in naija (security, power, etc) to another stress in Canada (Cold, expenses, taxes etc) I am beginning to wonder if the relocation to Canada worth it. Someone should tell me the truth please 4 Likes |
