If you need information on how to convert from CPA BC to CPA Ontario, I am your go to guy. I converted mine not too long ago. It is a very seamless process that takes less than 1 month. Infact 3 weeks or lesser depending on the response rate. 7 Likes 6 Shares |

@ Saskatchewan resident folks, please do know any diligent and focused realtor/real estate agent based in Saskatoon/or around that location that is extremely familiar and knowledgeable about and with the way real estate matters/investing work in Saskatoon and its wider suburbs/environs? I really appreciate in advance. Thank you. |

Good day all, kind share your opinion on below. What would be your advise to this scenario Family of four... PPR in ✋ Who have 70% of their POF at hand (cash) aside flight cost planning to land immediately.. Or delay landing for another five months to get 100% POF |

Ope27: This will be long, but try to read through; Dear OP, Please permit me to add my input despite not landed yet. But, the way the question dey bite me for bodi no gree me stay one place. Ok, now the logic/reasoning for this response. Let's do a small calculation based on the information you gave; KNOWN FACT i. Family of 5 = 3Kids + 2 Adults ii. POF for Family of 5 = N7.5Million approx. as at today iii. 70% of N7.5Million/POF4family of 5 = 5.3Million approx. iv. N5.3Million = CAD 19,400 Approx. v. No Extra charges/shingbain for flight/arrival, until first spending/buying in Canada vi. The Money at hand for settlement in Canada= CAD 19,400 vii. At least, you need 5 Extra months to get N2.4Million SEMI-KNOWN FACTS/ASSUMPTION; a. At least one parent is a working-class (i.e Principal Applicant) - This is a source of income making upon arrival b. One of the parents can/will stay at home to look after the kid/s if with a toddler - No need for daycare cost. c. At least, one of the parents is not in a regulated profession d. At least, you have research your preferred destination and likelihood of finding a job. e. At least, one parent is ready to take up a probably less satisfying job to make the family survive. f. If you stay behind, in the next 5 months you're likely to pay house rent, car/everyday maintenance, school fees, and other related living expenses to the tone of N1Million = CAD 3,700. g. The chances of even having the exact 30% remaining POF at that time/5Months is a probability since nothing can be 100% guaranteed - Extended/Family bills happen. h. Based on research and information from family and friends in Toronto/expensive place - as an example, for a typical migrant family (with Naija sense/determined to make it) it is estimated between CAD 2.5-4.5K including house rent (1.2-1.5K) - Condo/Basement, per month. j. CAD 19.4K without any addition will take you at least 3-5months in Canada with spending caution and discipline. - This is enough time to get your feet on the ground and working/jobbing. OPINION BASED ON THE KNOWN AND THE UNKNOWN; - Let's start from the known to the UNKNOWN 1. If asking for POF at POE is the main cause for wanting to wait, you may have to fly immediately, since from stories here only about 2% has said anything relating to an Officer asking for POF at Port of Entry, and the most recent said s/he was even given a go-ahead before tendering the evidence. - So you may just remove the fear of the unknown and take your leap. 2. If you wait for the next 5months in Nigeria your estimated expenses are like CAD 4,000, in essence, which will conveniently cover at least your one month living in Canada instead of staying behind. 3. You may make your chances even a lot fancier by ensuring you start applying for Jobs now while still in Naija - both parents. 4. Do not overbuy anything, rather budget everything, know your means, and be ready to live by it. 5. Will your CAD 19.4K be enough till you get something to support your family. Honestly, this is unpredictable, as I have seen/read about people who got a job, really good jobs in days/weeks of landing. And, in some fashion I have read of those who stayed up to 3-6Months till they got something to hold on to. But, believe it, even in those odd situations the ones without jobs still had some non-white collar jobs they used for survival - comon! you cannot predict the future, you only have to make the effort and watch out for the desired outcome. BOTTOM LINE Q: Should you make your move immediately? A: After much deliberation with your spouse based on the division of roles and possibility of earning an income for the family and then, have the determination to make sure you survive - You definitely are ready to FLY! Q: Can you live with your current 70% POF? A: Definitely YES! - Larger families have taken that route and are obviously doing great now. Q: Would you still spend eventually after waiting out the 5 months? A: That is a no brainer! and by all means, you are more likely to even spend with profligacy. Q: What are your options? A: To be blunt, I would say you don't have any other than to take your bags, family and take the next flight to YYZ/Pearson Int'l Airport. Q: Would you be fine? A: Only time can tell, however, why don't you find that out yourself. Q: Any caution if you decide not to fly immediately or soonest? A: Obviously! You should at least look out for your Medical Date/expiry as it is only valid for 1 year from date of visit to the hospital for the test. Well, I don't know if that still matters before/after landing sha. Q: Any other information? A: YES!, please stay away from unnecessary spending and pray for good health for your entire family upon landing. Q: Are there tips? A: * Your job from the moment you land is to look for job - Attend job fairs, get information from fellow migrants, join a religious group*-with caution, join communities of similar minds, grow your LinkedIn connections, Be proactive on LinkedIn, Search-Search-and-Search for just JOBS - Other things will follow soon after. A: * Try to stay off the NOT MANDATORY buys - i.e only go for MUST BUY e.g SIM/Phone, furniture can come later. A: * Both parents should try to work if both are in high-demand jobs as this will help to pay for daycare if you have a toddler as well give the other parent the holy grail "CANADIAN EXPERIENCE" as well. A: Also consider shifting jobs, so that a parent can work during the day while the other at night - this saves the cost of a daycare or the need for a nanny to stay with your children - if none is above 12 (my recommendation) A: * Try to get good health insurance just in case a family member needs aid A: * Try to look for cheaper airline/fair so as to cut down costs as much as possible if you haven't booked. A: * Don't choose convenience over "the necessities" for now - KNOW THE DIFFERENCE A: * Try to do some side/extra jobs even after getting the main one - Lookout for a shift, weekends, and none-white collar jobs as a side hustle. ON THE LIGHTER MODE: Abeg check for the weather first before you board o, so as to make sure you prepare your mind, spirit, soul, and body for the Temperature onboarding process when you land. Congratulations on your PPR. Abeg me need your prayers oo...God's speed/grace I pray. Go and prospers @ope27, and I wish you the best of Luck...see you in Canada! I hope this is helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading. 81 Likes 11 Shares |

Landing Gist- (Lone Traveller) So after all the struggle of getting ITA, submitting application, the emotionally draining experience of waiting for PPR/COPR, the joy of that followed after all came through (that feeling of achievement and satisfaction), the booking of flight and then realising that there is life after all of this and that going to Canada is just a means to an end 27th of February, 2020 was the day I decided to leave 9ja and my flight leaves 1.45pm. I struggled to get my things packed and ready because even after resigning from my Job, my Oga was still asking me to help out with some work just to assist the team I left behind (we needed more hands and my leaving did not make things any easy for them). I moved my things to my brother in-laws house the day before my departure because he wanted to drop me off at the airport. Got to the airport early that morning and I prepared to pay for excess luggage (mumsi packed things for me and insisted I go with them all- 9kg excess=23k approx.). Did the necessary check-ins which was kind of a breeze and went on to the boarding gate after saying farewell to friends who came to see me off at the airport (parted with N800 in all, 500 for the immigration lady who let my guy in and 300 to the “bros we dey chop breakfast for here crew”, every other person I told “nothing dey” or I pretended not to hear their begging) I flew with ET and had a good experience generally on both legs of the trip but before the good experience I was very scared because looking out the window I felt like “shey this thing no go fit just fall like this ni” (It was my first time flying o, so I was very nervous but I relaxed much later into the flight and I also took time to observe people so that I wont embarrass my life ). However, during my flight I was restless all through because I felt my guy who I was supposed to stop by at his place before getting an Airbnb went MIA on me (so was trying also to make alternative arrangement for accommodation while flying) but apparently na work cause the whole not being able to reach him wahala. I also got news mid-air that COVID 19 don enter 9ja through an Italian man via Lagos airport and this did not make me feel good at all (Thoughts of -shey the people that searched me at the airport did not touch this man sha plus I was scared for my family and 9ja knowing how helpless and vulnerable the masses are). We got to Addis Ababa and layover was kind of short, the airport was beautiful and was nothing compared to the one I saw in 9ja before leaving. We boarded and flew to Dublin, refuelled and finally got to the famous Toronto Pearson Airport on 28th February, 2020. By the way, I dint carry any cooked food to eat, so I made sure I ate and drank all that passed by me even though almost all the edibles looked alien to me (I no sabi select food ni ). It took approx. 6hrs for me to clear myself at the airport because a whole lot of people was on the cue and the cue dint move fast at immigration where my COPR was signed. I was tired and exhausted and from too much standing. I am here now and I have slept only about 2.3hrs in all slept by 12am and woke about 2:37am (can’t say I know what it feels to be jet-lagged). Did my SIN at the airport and will still get to open a bank account, get PRESTO card and SIM too. Las Las I reached my friend and he told me about an arrangement for a week stay @200 CAD so I just went there straight up and paid cash. He came in to see me later and we decided to grab coffee together then go to his place for food. This dude set me up and made us run like 4mins straight to catch a bus. Come and see me panting and gasping for breath, I started breathing like someone who was asthmatic , knowledge of the symptoms of COVID 19 come even make fear catch me small but after the coffee I was good First day here I took my first bus ride and I dint loss (testimony 1). From my friends place to where I stay after he explained to me how to get home after getting PRESTO card. Got home and decided to I go get my SIM and after doing it my ba3 died (see panic attack na- fear of how do I go home), I sha pleaded with the attendant to help me use google map and I copied the stops and points where I need to take bus home. I still did not loss (Testimony 2) I now felt confident going anywhere, I went to the bank and opened my account ( my account manager was nice and shared some of her experience when she moved in 2011 and also gave me some tips and advice) Moving around was not easy bcs sometimes I will start looking something that I am holding in my hand o (The cold dey touch brain sometimes and also makes my nose run sometimes) I always use the map and sometimes I get to turn around in circles to make sure I am on the right track before I move (those that see me will sha know this one is a JJC plus I no send) and I always ask the bus driver to confirm once I get into the bus. Day2 here It's a Sunday and I went to a catholic church that google said is closest to me I have come oo and its time to face what is facing me here and I go conquer with God and putting in the needed work. Just like king Solomon, I pray for wisdom. Day 3 I figured I need to connect more to get help settling in properly. Please I need links to a group for Ontario residents ejor. Still also looking for a house and job(I need to start earning asap...I am an finance person). Suggestions and assistance from experienced onces here will help. Una don see as my waka take be. A friend of mine applied for visa but got rejected due to the following reasons 1. There are reasonable doubts about your intention to leave the territory of the Member States before the expiry of the visa. 2. The purpose and circumstances of the intended stay have been insufficiently demonstrated Should he Appeal or How would he solve this issue on his next application?? |

Mimmieee: Medical school is very competitive to get into in Canada. Less than 30% of all applicants are selected, 15% for Ontario. You need WES evaluation of your 4 year degree, MCAT SCORE depending on the university cut off, TOEFL score, minimum CGPA score as well as good references. 1 Like |
