I am from Ogun State Abeokuta precisely and my girl friend is from Ekiti but born and brought in Ibadan but she studied in Abeokuta. We both met two years ago in Abeokuta since then we are deeply in love, we both are in a good relationship. Now we both thought its time for us to open our relationship to our family... Now, Both the family didn't support us because She and I came from Ekiti and Abeokuta respectively... We both are now confused because we are deeply in love... Please what can we do?

Is it that both families rejected the union or just her family? And is the rejection base on religious ground?

I heard this nonsense severally. My frd dt wedded some months ago met his girlfriend during service (I was there). The same problem surfaced. But now they are married.

Your case is a little different though. because the parents for both sides are against it. If she can prevail upon her parents, I blv to prevail upon yours should not be a problem. Especially your dad. If you are truly matured to the level of marriage, you should be able to prevail upon your dad.

Notwithstanding, I have come to understand something about life. NOTHING worth the stress.

If you must:
1. Prevail upon your family first.
2. Call a meeting with her dad. I am not mincing words. I meant A MEETING. Just you and him. And talk to him as man to man. BRO I MEAN AS MAN TO MAN. Not as boy to man. Dnt throw away the mannners while doing that though.

If after this, it doesn't work, just forget it. Dnt call people to beg either of the parents. I said that because of the future.
