Liverpool stars have arrived at Melwood on Wednesday afternoon as they prepare to undergo one more training session before their season defining match against Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp's squad were snapped arriving at their training base looking in a particularly focused mood as they look to protect their lead at the top of the Premier League.

Liverpool travel to Manchester City on Thursday night with a six-point lead at the top of the table and they could stretch their advantage over Pep Guardiola’s squad to 10 points if they win at the Etihad Stadium.

Earlier on Wednesday, Klopp demanded his players be 'greedy and full of desire' as they look to make the biggest statement of the season yet.

After leading his team to seven consecutive victories, Klopp does not want their intensity to drop as he feels Liverpool will still be underdogs in the game.

He said: 'It's a normal game against Manchester City, a very difficult one - one of the most difficult ones you can play in the modern football world, away at City. We felt that plenty of times.

‘It's a really strong football team with an outstanding manager. We have to be prepared as good as possible, we have to be brave, full of desire, angry - all that stuff, like in all the other games. But the opponent, for me, is still the best team in the world.

‘And I don't say that to say it, I said it weeks ago. It's 100 percent my opinion because the way they play, the things they achieved, the ability and all that stuff. Nothing changed. Only the points changed, but not the preparation for the game.’

Mohamed Salah was among those entering the facility in his black Bentley and was quickly followed by forward partner Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian was all smiles and even waved to the camera as he prepares to return to action off the back of his hat-trick in the sensational 5-1 win over Arsenal last weekend.

Alisson will expect to have a busy evening against City's impressive attack but that didn't seem to faze him as he flashed a thumbs up to the cameras as he drove into the car park.

Defensive powerhouse Virgil van Dijk was also present, as was James Milner who returned to training this week from injury ahead of the game with his former club. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri were all also seen arriving.
