Greetings

I received BVA email that "At the immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) the processing of your visa application is completed. The Embassy has to make the final processing and decision". I received this on 14th Oct. Do i need to contact the Embassy?

Hi all,

My physical appointment for the blue card is tomorrow. I already got my documents approved via the online portal previously. They stated that I don’t need to come along with documents that were already uploaded, except for original documents like passport, University certificate etc.

To be safe, I also obtained the following documents from the checklist on the official website: Letter of motivation, Signed employment contract, Evidence of previous employments, Courier envelope.

Besides the original documents requested, are there some other documents they may ask for that aren’t included in the checklist?

Thanks in advance.

I’d say bring only the documents listed as required on the online portal where you applied. I believe it is stated explicitly and it usually is your original school certificates (from primary to university level).

Nonetheless, even if you bring more documents than requested, there is no penalty - you would simply just take it back home. So you can add other documents like your employment contract, erkalung bla bla - declaration of commitment, marriage certificate, birth certificate/affidavit, birth certificates for your children & spouse, vorabstimmung (pre-approval doc), ZAB evaluation report etc.

Do not forget to bring along a clear passport photograph.

You can contact them if you wish, there is no harm in writing them an email to follow up on your visa. You can reference the email you got from the immigration office.

Thanks @MedBose for the guidance. I really appreictae.

Please how long does a blue card take to process.

It can take as long as the embassy wants😢. I know of someone that got theirs in one week (with the pre-approval). I also know of someone that got theirs in 3 to 4 months.

With the pre approval document, your visa is supposed to be fast tracked and it should be processed in less than 6 weeks.

So be hopeful and you should get your visa delivered before your resumption date or shortly after.

Hi
I think your parents can do that for you or anyone related to you can go the LG council of your town and request for it in place of your parents.

I would also want to know if your wife require verification? Also, have the ABH contacted you; if yes how long did it take?

It has been two months now since my wife’s

interview. I have not received any letter from ABH. We do not need verification since I am a researcher. The ABH told me that they have not heard from Lagos consulate. I wonder why it is taking so long.

I think you should contact the Embassy via Email to inform them or rather remind them that your Wife do not need Verification.

Hi Guys,
I would like to ask whether the NECO result is acceptable for the family reunification visa interview, or if it is compulsory to present the WAEC result instead. My friend's date of birth was wrong in the WAEC result so to avoid further issues, she wants to use her NECO result, has someone used NECO before and was it accepted?

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi. Please when was your interview and is it for normal FRV or you or your spouse is a blue card holder? I'm asking so I know if the process has undergone any improvement or it's still the usual delayed process.

I used a temp mail to open this account so I don’t have access to the mail.

If you have another private medium where we can communicate, sure I don’t mind.

Thanks for the response.
I wasnt aware that work visa applicants got quick responses. Lucky you.
I always assumed it was only spouses of Blue Card holders whose process was speedy (3 months)

Good day all,
Those that got their visa this year especially within the last six months either through having a spouse with a German citizenship or a researcher or a blue card holder, pls how long did it take;
1. For your spouse in Germany to get a reply from the embassy in Nigeria
2. For you to be called to bring your passport and get your visa

I await your sincere reply
Thanks

I think she should take both. While both should be valid, I think she is safe having both in hand; just in case the consular prefers one or the other. The key point here is that when she presents either of the two, she makes no mention of the error in date of birth (although I think every Nigerian already knows someone or has themselves experienced the error in DOB on the WAEC certificate - so no worries!).

I am guessing your question relates to a timeline starting from a day after your FRV interview right?

I read a comment here that it is possible to travel alongside your spouse/family if you got the pre-approval documents for you and your spouse/family. Not sure if it was for a specific visa type, but give it a shot. Better still, check through the comments on this thread if someone has mentioned this case already.

Thanks to you and everyone for the shared and clarified details.

For prospective applicants, please ensures you make photocopies of your documents and arranged as listed on the checklist. Make colored copies of your passport detail pages and ensure you enough cash in your ATM card (based on my category, I paid with the card which I don't know if it's applicable across all categories) so avoid the pressure of wanting you to get the cash from POS agent as the charges are extorting (also for the copies)

Additionally، try and avoid that "man" wahala as he's unreasonable and difficult individual.

Lastly, be hopeful and prayerful. Long live nairalanders

My wife and our children had their interviews on the 9th of July 2024. The last email I received from the consulate informed us that the visas are in processing. Is there anyone whose family members had his/her interviews on similar days? May I know what’s going on from other people?

Hi
Have you heard anything from the ABH or Consulate?
