Chelsea have reportedly submitted a £45m bid for Cagliari star Nicolo Barella.

Coach Maurizio Sarri is keen to sign a new midfielder as Cesc Fabregas is set to leave the club anytime soon.

MySportDab report Fabregas has been heavily linked with a move to AS Monaco where he would team up with former teammate at Arsenal Thierry Henry.

However, According to reports in Italy, Chelsea have made a £45m bid for Barella.

The 21-year-old Italy international is also a target for Serie A clubs Inter Milan and Napoli.

But Barella recently admitted he is not listening to talk about his future or a move away from Cagliari.

"I have never given too much weight to compliments or criticism, I am not impervious, but I know that in this world nobody gives you anything," he said.

"If there are clubs interested in me it meansthat I am doing my job well.

"My future? At this moment I have no idea of what will happen."
