Someone told me that if I sat for IELTS it will help me get a good job abroad. He says he knows friends and associates who used it in getting VISA's and jobs abroad.

I have always known that it is used for securing admissions into tertiary schools but this fellow seem so sure of what he is saying.

A google search showed that some european countries accept it for immigration purposes.

Can anybody on nairaland comfirm the or refute the fellow's claim.
