Cash Crops
Ondo state is the largest cocoa producer in Nigeria responsible for over 40% all cocoa export in Nigeria.
The current cocoa production volume of the state stands at 240,000 metric tonnes per annum with plans of significantly increasing the volume in coming years.
Food Crops
Ondo state has a wide variety of food crops produced within the state that are viable for local and foreign consumption.
The list of major food crops produced includes yam, maize, rice, cassava, cocoyam and sugarcane. Growing International demand for these crops creates a new opportunity for investors.
The Cassava-to-Ethanol Project at Okeluse, in collaboration with National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), now functions well and has generated 2,500 direct employments.

Governor @RotimiAkeredolu distributed hybrid Cocoa and Cashew Seedlings to farmers, as he encourages them to always go to Ondo Lee Industrial Park to take cassava cuttings for planting.

250 rice farmers have been projected to access the CBN Agro Borrowers’ Scheme to scale up their production in rice farming to feed the mills. In turn, this will encourage local production and stop importation.

In order to turn Ondo state into a major agricultural and food-processing hub in the south west Nigeria, Government has collaborated with Adventuim Global Development Ltd, for the establishment of a #15.050Billion Agricultural Development and Food Processing Project at Akunnu, in Akoko North East Local Government Area.
