The Oyo State Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) through it's Joint negotiating Council on Monday sent a letter to the Oyo State Governor Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi giving him seven (7) days ultimatum to resolve some industrial issues and stating many reasons why industrial Harmony can no longer be guaranteed in the State. Chief among those issues is the non implementation of promotions arrears since it approved promotion for civil servant in the State last year March.

According to a reliable source in the State workforce, the governor has refused to give civil servant promotion since he came to Office 8 years ago, the only promotion he effected was the one the governor he took over from has done since 2011. Having approved promotions from 2012-2016 he has still refused to make it financially effective, meaning it's just a paper promotion.
"This is strange because there is no where in the world where a worker will receive promotion and it will not have any financial implication", the worker said.

The workers also equally wants the State government to address other issues relating to the workers welfare!
