Ondo APC sets up committee to reconcile aggrieved members



The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Tuesday inaugurated a 15-man Peace and Reconciliation Committee to reconcile aggrieved members of the party in the state.

Specifically, the committee is expected to reconcile the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, and some leaders of the party, including the senator representing Ondo North, Ajayi Boroffice; former state chairman of the party, Isaac Kekemeke; and a former deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, among others.

The inauguration of the committee took place at the state secretariat of the party in Akure, the state capital.

The state chairman, Ade Adetimehin, who inaugurated the committee charged members to draw from their poltical experience to pacify all aggrieved members of the party.

Adetimehin said, “You have been carefully selected. I charge you to represent the party well and justify the confidence reposed in you.

“You are not going to judge anyone but to interract with members; listen to them; write and submit a report to us based on what you meet on the field.”

The committee, which was decentralised into senatorial zones, was given a week to submit its report to Akeredolu, through the state chairman.

Responding, the chairman of the committee, Olu Adegboro, commended the governor for supporting all efforts at ensuring peace and unity within the party.
