Many ancient book linked the origin of Martial art to the spread of Buddhism from ancient India during the early 5th century AD, with the figure of Bodhidharma, to China. In the early 1550 I'm Europe the term Martial art is derived from Latin to mean “arts of Mars.

Romanian God of war “Mars” (myth) has some attributions to the origin of Martial art dating to 2nd century AD, He was second in importance only to Jupiter ( the god of the sky and thunder and king of the gods in Ancient Roman religion and mythology) and Mars was believed to be the most prominent of the military gods in the religion of the Roman army. It was also believed that the Yellow Emperor Huangdi (legendary date of ascension 2698 BC) introduced the earliest fighting systems of Martial art to China. The art is practiced all around the world and is not gender selective but has some differences in the way it is practiced by different tribes round the globe.
