The Nigerian music industry is a spontaneous industry. A success template or trend might work for one artiste and when another artiste tries it, it just backfires.

Normally when an upcoming artiste drops a song that eventually goes viral, there’s this wild expectation of another hit song from him that will further establish him as one artiste to look out for in the industry.

However the artiste fails to drops another similar hit song and then we come about the term “One Hit Wonder”.

Wizkid, Olamide, Ice Prince and Davido were artistes who were able to back up their debut hit singles with follow up music materials that also went viral.

But who are these artistes who became irrelevant after just one song.

1. Humblesmith

Blew up after Osinachi track went viral. The single which was with Phyno originally enjoyed massive airplay then in December 2015.

It was the perfect song to close out the year and it was not surprising he was nominated in the Headies Rookie Of The Year 2015 though YCee won.

And when he got a remix to the song that went viral, we thought we had an established act already. East, West, Central was buzzing with Osinachi.

Then, we didn’t hear of Humblesmith for a while. He released an album earlier this year but it wasn’t even highly rated. Too disheartening to see his career fade away so fast.

2. AY.com

Pass Me Your Love was a popular song then in 2009. It was one of the most surprising songs then that got very huge on the streets and in the monsters and with the then in form dancehall act, Terry G on the track, it was a creative masterpiece.

Kids were not left out chanting “Pass Me your love eh”. It was every lovers’ favourite and we earnestly expected more from AY.com. But man disappointed with trash singles that followed next.

3. DeeBee – Collabo

When we heard “Collabo” then coming from a relatively unknown artiste, you would want to slander him for a sensual song.

But as at then, this song went up at clubs and parties and once the DJ plays Collabo, anywhere you are, whatever you are doing, it ushers you into that dance consciousness.

It’s that song that makes you lose your home training, that’s if you’ve got one. DeeBee’s Collabo is still a hit till now but where’s DeeBee now?

4. Konga – Baby Konga

If you were in that era when once a song gets popular on the streets, it got popular everywhere also. It was that time Konga gave us Baby Konga.

Baby Konga was played by street DJs and every street buzzed the song. And wherever it went up at any Children’s Party, the kids exhibited any dance they knew because it was a vibe song. That’s how big it was.

But Konga betrayed our trust after. He just left the scene so fast. Another one hit wonder we loved so much.

5. Kelly Handsome

Kelly Handsome had an eventful music career though we don’t know if his music career is still functioning.

In his hey days, Kelly Handsome was the perfect replacement Kennis Music had to 2face or so they thought. In 2008, he released one of the biggest music materials that year – Maga Don Pay.

We all still chant that phrase “Maga Don Pay, shout hallelujah”. Afterwards, his music career went through a lot of ups and downs. Probably, Maga stooped paying.

Humblesmith had other songs after osinachi that trended. Focus, jukwese, abakiliki to lasgidi ft olamide. You bloggers really need to up your game. Coming up with this kind of lists is about research and not just sitting down and compiling names of artistes you don't like their brand of music

I can't click your website link. Seeing humblesmith on this list shows that you don't know anything about Nigerian music or you are to one dimensional to be writing about Nigerian music. People like you will say Johnny drille and nonso amadi are one hit wonders. In addition to the ones the poster above me listed, Humblesmith also had another hot jam last year called attracta ft Tiwa Savage and you're here writing nonsense
