The Deputy Governor of Borno State His Excellency Usman Mamman Durkwa Had a ghastly motor accident on his way to Gombe.

His convoy was returning from a condolence visit to the Government of Nasarwa over the death of Emir of Lafia. They were headed to Gombo from Nasarawa when the accident occurred.

From reports, the Deputy Governor was not hurt but four Policemen who were in the convoy lost their lives.

One of the police officers is a security aid to the Governor while the other three are from SARS headquarters Abuja

there is no Airport in Nassarawa state , the only flight options would have been to charter a flight from Borno to Abuja which cost about 3 million Naira one way and from Abuja take an helicopter which will cost about 4 million Naira to wait and return to Abuja.thats about 10 million Naira already ..No Nigerian deputy governor has access to that kind of funding for transportation
