The President Buhari led Federal Government has asked the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) to freeze the bank accounts of Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN). In a letter from the office of Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation, it was stated that the directive was in line with a presidential executive order. Onnoghen has a standing trial before the Code of Conduct Bureau for alleged false declaration of asset upon the petition written by a former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari.
