Nigeria's ruling party pledges to 'keep America safe' in manifesto plagiarism row APC spokesperson blames mistake on 'evil plots' committed by hackers Nigeria’s ruling party has been accused of plagiarism after its manifesto declared it was dedicated to “keeping America safe and secure”. The All Progressive’s Congress (APC), led by President Muhammadu Buhari, featured on its website a section dedicated to energy policy ahead of a general election slated for February. It was allegedly headlined, “Our first priority is keeping America safe and secure”, and featured rambling copy critics said was likely lifted from other websites. Reno Omokri, a former aide for ex-Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan, accused the APC of “obviously” lifting the language “from Donald Trump”, though it is not clear when or even if the US president ever used the wording. An APC spokesperson, Lanre Issa-Onilu, claimed on Twitter the website had been "hacked" and "unauthorised content" posted on it. “We won’t allow the desperate people to in their evil plots," he said. The content was later removed and replaced with new wording. It is not the first time the APC has been accused of plagiarism. Screen grab shows APC's website before wording was updated (APC) In 2016, Mr Buhari was forced to apologise after it emerged a number of passages in a speech launching his presidential campaign had been lifted from Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential victory speech. Mr Buhari blamed the incident on “overzealous staff”. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/nigeria-elections-apc-manifesto-keep-america-safe-trump-muhammadu-buhari-a8731136.html 3 Likes 2 Shares

. APC you see your life? Una incompetence no get pair. If only you all had spent a quarter of the energy you now use to hide opposing thoughts to actually govern. You would win hands down without campaigning. But no, entitlement means that you can absolutely mess up things, misappropriate funds, facilitate deep insecurity and poverty and still expect to remain in power. Are you all possessed with some deep evil? PS. Na Abike Dabiri broda do d website.... . This is what the website showed on the 2nd of January https://web.archive.org/web/20190102144327/https://apc.com.ng/manifesto/ 23 Likes 1 Share

Just imagine the national & international embarrassment the useless, senseless, directionless & lifeless Buhari-led APC government have brought upon Nigeria. APC is not innovative but filled with people that are as daft as the leadership therein hence plagiarize other people ideas/concepts. A government whose penchant for lies, deceit, false-hood, propaganda, denial & counter-denial will only continue to remain a global source of shame. 26 Likes 1 Share

A.P.C. hoodwink well-meaning Nigerians. Our expectations inclines to the inevitability of a new era that will ultimately dispel the raging storms of conflicts across the country from the brigandage of the Fulani herdsmen to the Boko haram apc has failed ATIKU ABUBAKAR is a successful businessman and a philanthropist, and has created over 50,000 direct jobs and 250,000 indirect ones; thereby making him the largest private employer of labour in Adamawa state only second to the state government. Some of his businesses include; co-founder of Intels, an oil servicing business with extensive operations in Nigeria and abroad. - He is also the founder of Adama Beverages Limited, and the American University of Nigeria (AUN) (the only American style university in Sub-Saharan Africa), both in Yola, Adamawa. if he manages his businesses well, with such labour force, he will do same for Nigeria. 13 Likes |
