The Igbo highest decision-making body, Ime Obi Ohanaeze Ndigbo, on Thursday endorsed the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, for the February 16, 2019 presidential election.

In a communiqué, the body said the endorsement of Atiku was in its collective search for a man that was just, egalitarian and inclusive.

The communique that was signed by the President General of Ohanaeze, Chief Nnia Nwodo, said they decided to endorse Atiku because he nominated their son, Peter Obi as his vice a decision that have “Ndigbo an opportunity for inclusivity”

A statement that have caused a major stir online with many asking the Ohanaeze not to cry marginalization if Atiku did not win because they chose ethnicity instead of competency.
