Seven years after the original OccupyNigeria nationwide protests, some lawyers and members of civil society organizations are carrying out protests around the country in favour of the disgraced chief justice of the federation, Walter Nkanu Onnoghen. While some have welcomed the protests, others have dismissed it as unnecessary and interest-fueled.

It is true that many law practitioners believe President Buhari did not act according to the provisions of the constitution, but from an opposite viewpoint, Nigeria has other pressing issues begging for attention. Case in point, the ongoing ASUU strike, which has affected the session calendar of public tertiary institutions nationwide. A lot of students are idle and this has contributed to current crime rates in the country.

Organizing nationwide protests which would seem to be in favour of the judicial elite, as opposed to one benefitting students, is what some political analysts refer to as misplaced priorities by civil societies.

What do you think about the ongoing OccupyNigeria protests which started on Monday, January 28?

We are in a Democracy where a President's life and living must always reflect the life and living of the people. The people are the Tivs, Ijaws, Ibibios, Igbos, Yorubas, Kanuris, Hausas and some Fulanis who were in Nigeria prior to 1914. This is not a Military Country. Buhari must understand the differences between Domination, Compromise and Integration of principles and ideas. He is just one individual out of about 200 million Nigerians with hope and aspirations. Onnoghen is a Primate like Buhari. So Buhari cannot kill him without getting a Reaction of the people they both represent and the Consequence of his misdeed. Buhari, a Fulaniman cannot surround himself with his own people and continue to look at others tribes with Disdain. It's wicked and uncaring to suspend himself, Buhari, and immediately replace himself with Atiku without recourse to the Constitution.

This country is a joke, nobody occupied Nigeria because of ASUU strike because Nigeria public universities where you find the common man children not the elites, because its CJN people are now occupying Nigeria.
Mind you, I'm not a buharist neither I'm articulated, we are doomed in this nation.
