A friend of mine just concluded a property transaction using the services of an agent. The 5% charge due the agent amounts to N150,000 and now my friend feels that's a bit too much and is considering negotiating the commission downwards. However, he wants to know if the agency fee is negotiable or cast in stone so he does not embark on a futile mission.

Negotiation should come before deal and not after deal. Respect yourself. Be a gentleman

Same thing I told him and he is willing to go with. But the question remains "Are Agency fees fixed or cast in stone"?
