GNI alleges plot to rig Ogun guber poll


The Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI), has alleged that members of some members of the opposition parties was planning to rig the March 2 election.

The ADC flag bearer spoke at a press conference held at his campaign office in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Isiaka, who enjoys the backing of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, however vowed to do everything possible to thwart such plan legally.

He called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to sacrifice the mandate of the masses under any guise.

According to him, "At this juncture on behalf of our party, I want to raise an alarm about the clandestine and well-orchestrated plan by known opposition political parties to manipulate the March 2nd 2019 gubernatorial election.

"In the last few weeks, we have been inundated with unimpeachable information and security reports about the grand plot by these elements to deliberately compromise that election.

"They have hatched four different rigging plans, one of which we shall highlight here while the other three shall be withheld for exclusive counter action.

"We want to assure them that we shall not be taken by surprise by their plot as we are fully ready to protect every single vote the people freely give us using all means that is lawfully feasible.

"We also use this medium to call on the newly posted Resident Electoral Commissioner and his team not to lend themselves to the sinister plot of these antidemocratic elements.

"They must make every vote count and resist the temptation and inducement of the current establishment".

Isiaka also took a swipe at Governor Ibikunle Amosun, accusing him of failing to deliver on his campaign promises.

On education, the two-time governorship candidate argued that the 20% claim of the state government on education has not paid off.

Isiaka also referred to model schools structure built across the state at the rate of 1.2 billion per unit as a waste.
