Incidents of kidnapping seem to have died down quite sharply since Jonathan gave the IG orders to bring the crime to a halt.
It would be the greatest piece of good news, if that blight on our nation is truly being defeated and consigned to the bin of history. It is a crime that has brought psychological trauma, injury, loss of life and untold pain to many individuals and families.

But, knowing our Police, I'm a bit worried that it seems all too quick and all too easy. The seeming speed at which the current lull has come, brings a few questions to mind;

[li]Was there involvement of bad eggs in the Police?[/li]
[li] Is kidnapping an organised crime, such that the bosses can give nationwide orders for their footmen to lie low until the heat cools down, giving us a false sense of security?[/li]
[li]Who exactly are the kidnappers?[/li]
[li]If the gangs have been decimated, where is the expected surge in arrests, indeed how many kidnappers have been arrested?[/li]
