MEANING YOU WILL BLAME ME IF I GIVE YOUR FAMILY A DIME? HAHAHA JUST THINK.

WHETHER 1 NAIRA OR 1 MILLION NAIRA IT MAKES NO SENSE PAYING TO MARRY YOUR PARTNER.

SOME IGBOS CLAIM THE HUGE PAYMENT IS USUALLY TO APPRECIATE THE GIRLS FAMILY FOR RAISING THEIR OWN DAUGHTER. SO I'M WONDERING WHO GETS TO PAY THE MAN'S FAMILY FOR RAISING HIM?

THIS IS NONSENSE.

I totally agree.

even tho I am an igbo man myself, I don't fancy that concept of "huge, mighty bride price" or even bride price itself.

But its not a crime so I have no problem with those who do it.

But as for me, and my family, we are not paying 10 kobo, neither will we accept 10k for our daughter's.

But the rest can do as they like

I KNEW YOU WOULD COME UP WITH THIS. I KNEW YOU WOULD PRETEND TO NOT SEE THE PART WHERE I MENTIONED THAT WHETHER ITS 1 NAIRA OR 1 MILLION NAIRA, PAYING TO BE WITH A PERSON IS NONSENSE.

TRADITIONS ARE ALWAYS ABOLISHED. WHY DON'T WE KILL TWINS OR VIRGINS DURING KINGS BURIALS?

IT'S NOT TRADITION, IT'S THE GREED AND ENTITLEMENT MENTALITY OF THE BLACK MAN.

ONE ABNORMAL LADY IS TELLING ME TO PAY IF I REALLY VALUE THE WOMAN.
SINCE I HAVE TO SHOW VALUE FOR MY PARTNER, WHO PAYS FOR MY OWN VALUE... OR ARE MEN VALUELESS??

I THINK WOMEN HAVE BEEN HAVING IT TOO EASY AND THEY WANT TO KEEP TAKING THAT RIDE. I'M NOT GOING TO BE A PARTY TO MEDIOCRITY.

IN THE OLDEN DAYS, TRADITION DEMANDED THAT A MAN PAYS HEAVILY TO GET A BRIDE. AND AFTER THAT PEOPLE EXPECTED TO SEE PROOF THAT HE GOT HER WITHOUT BLEMISH (MOSTLY BY PRESENTING A STAINED BEDSPREAD THE DAY AFTER THE WEDDING NIGHT).
THE SECOND PART HAS NOW BEEN RULED OUT BECAUSE OF THE DISCOMFORT IT GIVES MOST WOMEN OF TODAY, BUT YET, THEY'RE YET TO DO AWAY WITH THE FIRST PART BECAUSE IT ONLY CAUSES DISCOMFORT TO MEN AND NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND.

ABSOLUTE NONSENSE IS WHAT BRIDE PRICE IS.

you have said it all.

women and their cunning/manipulative ways. undecided

if we must stick to bride price, the bride must be "unblemished" as you said.
