On a day like this last year we lost a gem of the Righteous Resistance. The Representative of Sheikh Zakzaky in Sokoto zone was assassinated by Nigerian security forces. He was shot with a poisonous bullet on his leg. They murdered him so that they can stop the #FreeZakZaky protest in Abuja.

Sheikh Qassem Umar was a Revolutionary of the finest grade. He was fearless and his loyalty to Sheikh Zakzaky a model for all.

Sheikh Qassem Umar spent seven (7) years in jail due to his Islamic activism. He was not the leader that only send commands, he was always present at the front.

When President Buhari sent heavily-armed soldiers to kill Sheikh Zakzaky, Sheikh Qassem Umar was at the house of Sheikh Zakzaky. When the attacks and bombardment became intense Sheikh Zakzaky asked him to leave and return to Sokoto. He wept! But that was a command that he obeyed.
