What is confusing is that why is the federal government used to buying locomotive trains in these times of high-tech speed trains and advancement? Well, maybe we will get an answer for this soon. Im guessing it was to save on cost and they can always upgrade later. Do you know if the tracks are optimized for highspeed rail? The other factor is time. The government wants to judt get these done to decongest traffic sooner than later seeing that they're stsrting behind the 8 ball. I agree they could have bought some faster trains though. |

hotwater1: You mean Abacha resurrected from inside his grave to negotiate the loan for the railway and started construction in 2017 and he's even going to commission the same Lagos Ibadan railway tomorrow? Sadly for you, the same Abacha could have built 5 and even more Lagos Ibadan high-speed railway with all the billions he stole from us. The kind of mentality you people are saddled with says you must always praise and recognize the looters and project abandoners and ridicule the ones with fortitude, sense of duty and determination to construct and complete. What kind of warped and backward mentality is that? You people are too young to be mentally screwed, intellectually lazy and handicap, all because of politics, tribalism and bigotry. |

hotwater1: Pple are just fighting on the internet on which government started it...what Pdp and Apc were/are just doing was/is simply importing the train parts and assembling them here in Nigeria for use. I even learnt most of them have been imported long time ago even before this dispensation but were kept in warehouses only to be assembled and put into use now. You really expect me to take you seriously with this kind of insane conspiracy and paranoia rubbish I stand by my post |

deomelo: God bless you. we should start somewhere. In the history of the PDP, they've never completed anything meaningful, not even their own secretariat which as usual was abandoned with the funds looted and parked in private bank accountsThey want to come back and sell the remaining for their friends and families. what nigeria needs is a culture of continuity no matter who is in charge....this culture of quick quick is stvpid. |

what nigeria needed back then was a solid plan for over decades and not privatisation.... discos was a bad idea....its a bottle neck....no matter how many power plants una build it will be worthless without proper infrastructure to deliver the power to the end users.... |

supereagle: AthiefKulooter gave us the script already, NNPC and even this Railway are dispensable via action to the lowest bidder aka their conies, just like the DISCos |
Re: Lagos-Ibadan Railway: See The Trains That Federal Government Ordered For - Photo by deomelo: 6:10am On Feb 06, 2019 |
dadark: The DISCos and the people behind the DISCOs are still looking for quick profit and return on investments when in fact they should be growing the business by investing in power plants, distribution infrastructure, credible power management and billion systems, even alternative power like wind solar, including residential solar installation, It;s a business with great opportunities, but they lack the necessary experience, financial capacity and management skills to run the DISCOs, The PDP sold the power assets to their cronies to reap profit, but never to provide quality service. Greed is the PDP way. |
