For starters, the US is not a socialist state. And yes, Government cannot solve your problems sustainably. You need to wake up and take full responsibility for your life.

Neither health insurance (including the universal cover in places like the UK) nor 'basic social security" benefits (as you called it) is free. The rich folks and the middle class pay for these things. And most of those who learn to depend on social welfare for their survival don't get any better at the long run. Instead, they get weaker and worse off both socially and economically.

Nothing gets your ass off the social welfare trap like taking absolute personal responsibility for the outcomes of your life as an individual.

Any society that tilts towards socialism by any standard (with it's usual excessive taxation and regulatory bureaucracy) faces imminent decline in gross productivity and social/economic sustainability.

By the way, having a common sense and very efficient social intervention programs FOR THOSE WHO REALLY NEED IT (like the very old, sick and jobless folks amongst us) - as done in the US - is not the same as running a fundamentally socialist and unrealistic government like Sowore is proposing to do.

So, don't you think it's time to forget all the bull dung that you've been probably fed by your unproductive, lazy-ass, and unhappy teachers?

Please, go and check out the ancient and modern history of Venezuela for a clue.

BigBashiru:

But you want to go to us and Canada and UK that are socialist states?? And you even go as far as calling it crap...

You are also insinuating that looted funds should not be used to provide basic social security; if u hv an accident and the doctor refuses to give you emergency healthcare until you pay 5milion cash and you die - you prefer that to being treated and the doctor repaid by the govt? And the governors should keep the funds they are looting?

I feel sorry for blacks.

Then stop complaining of looting. They loot since Nigerians like yourself reject welfare so they buy private jets with the money. Take responsibility for your roads and hospitals. You are responsible for your medical care and security. Just hope herdmen don't get you. It's your responsibility to protect urself! And hope you don't get shot by boko haram..

NB: there are several socialist states in the US.

Also please note there's a difference between responsible government and socialist state. You are mistaking the later for the former. States like uk that aren't too rich pay for basic social security thru taxes. Oil rich states like Saudi fund social security including govt sponsored schooling thru oil revenues.

Also stay back in Nigeria and stop planning to travel abroad that's if you are not already there.

I don't want to degenerate to insults so il just stop here and will no longer respond further.

A man woke up and shouted "holy ghost fire!"

Wife: What is it?
Man: Bad dream.
Wife: Was a lion chasing you?
Man: That would have been better.
Wife: What is it then?
Man: I nearly voted Buhari again in my dream
Wife: Blood of Zechariah! Honey, let's pray.
