A suspected rapist whose manhood was chopped off by his victim has been arrested by officials of the Katsina State Police Command.

The suspect, Bishir Yau, of Yargase village, was said to be rushed to the Kankara General Hospital for treatment where details of his crime were revealed to the police.

The police alleged that the suspect lured his victim, a 14-year-old girl, to an uncompleted building where he repeatedly molested her.

The girl, who resides in the same compound with the suspect, cut off his manhood after struggling to free herself from her attacker.

Yau has been charged by the police for rape, an offense punishable under Section 283 of the Penal Code.

He will appear before a Katsina Senior Magistrates’ Court on April 4, 2019, for arraignment.
