Please ,when leaving for the airport on your departure day, try as much as possible to get to the airport on time, to counter any exigencies. We know how our country is. if you are coming from out of the state, it's better you pass the night in a hotel close to the airport. 5 Likes 1 Share |

And whatever you do, don't forget to get a good power bank, especially for those that would be landing in winter. its better you buy from Nigeria, or you order from ali express. 6 Likes 7 Shares |

for those who plan to go with a laptop, please do not forget to change your power pack, the plug head differs from Nigeria's. you could get it in Canada, BUT.... you don't want to touch that POF for something you can get in Nigeria at a cheaper rate, for those in Lagos, at computer village, the price goes for 500- 1200 depending on your bargaining power. if you are to buy it on amazon, it goes for $9 - $12 (excluding cost of transportation) 10 Likes 16 Shares |

A wrong information to correct here. You do NOT need to get your fitness to fly from VI, Ethiopian Airlines will mandate you to do it at the MMIA Lagos if you're flying from Lagos. I was wrongfully informed by one of them to do it at VI, only to be told it wouldn't fly. It's around 2k or less at MMIA though. Cheers! 2 Likes 2 Shares |

To add to this post, try and do all dental/eye stuff before leaving. Get fresh prescription glasses (if you use them) and go for scaling and polishing of your teeth before your journey. 18 Likes 14 Shares |

post by mbhs139 On this POMO issue: Many Nigerians who Cargo POMO or have POMO in their luggage when coming into Canada are required to DECLARE it. If you declare it at the point of entry or at their office when seeking Customs clearance for your goods, they will simply add your name to their violators list and you don't get to pay fine. If you don't DECLARE it at this point, you will be issued a Notice of Violation which will contain a fine of $1,300. You will be allowed to pay $650 (granted 50% discount) if you pay same day otherwise you pay the full amount. In both scenarios, your name goes into their violators record and they will continue to add to this record the number of times you violated this laws. I don't know if this information is later used against you especially when you are seeking Citizenship. Finally, being a victim of this POMO wahala as at yesterday, the Customs Officer clearing my Cargo told me to tell my fellow Nigerians to stop bringing POMO to Canada. It seems they now search for POMO physically in all Shipment coming from Nigeria. When they search, they shred your bags and leave your luggage as a heap of mess. The Terminal Manager also told me that this is a regular occurence for Shipments coming from Nigeria. They both wondered why we don't share this experiences with each other to avoid the losses. So, I have shared. Please share with other Nigerians especially those whose cargo will be cleared at Halifax Port! 4 Likes 4 Shares |

Again on the pregnancy topic (Ethiopian Air, email response to my enquiry) Procedure of Acceptance of Pregnant Woman Normal pregnancy cases are acceptable up to 28 weeks both on domestic & international flights without a need for medical clearance from her attending doctor as well as from ET medical services. However, expectant mother should fill pregnancy certificate & present it during check-in /boarding. Medical clearance is needed after 28 weeks of pregnancy by her attending doctor but not from ET medical services. Travel is permitted until 36 weeks of pregnancy provided that she fills pregnancy certificate and has clearance from her attending doctor. Medical clearance from ET medical services is required only for complicated and exceptional cases of pregnancies. please check our website for the form and more details 2 Likes 5 Shares |

to collect PTA from banks travellers are entitled to $3000-$4000 evry quarter Criteria for PTA according to CBN -The applicant should be 18 years or older. -Be able to provide a valid Nigerian passport -Have an active account with the bank that will be providing you allowance. -Your journey must be more than 5 hours -Your flight must originate from Nigeria -The trip must occur within 14 days from the day of purchase of PTA/BTA -You must have verifiable Bank Verification Number [BVN] -Travellers are entitled to only $4,000 or its equivalent per quarter(3month) However, some banks and their officials tend to violate the laid down criteria due to corruption. what i would suggest is to call them out on social media. (twitter preferably) copy the "copyables " IF THEY FAIL TO PROVIDE YOU with your request. so far you have the above listed criteria, no bank has any excuse not to give. here are some of the excuses they give not to oblige you - they only give current account holder -ask you to provide tax clearance of x number of years -say they are out of FX -intentionally delay till the two weeks elapses. -They would say they don't give to one way ticket travellers. 2 Likes 3 Shares |

iaatmguy: It is CBN policy not to sell PTA to customers without a return ticket. |
Re: Transitioning From Ppr To Landing In Canada by Nobody: 5:27pm On May 06, 2019 |
yahooz:Oga, there is no such policy. I got a PTA for me and my wife on a one way ticket. No hassles at all. The problem is, some bank officials don't know the policy. So long as you have an immigrant visa or work permit, you are also entitled to get a PTA. |

UPDATE [s]amount to pay at vfs office is N0.00. You would only be paying IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING YOUR PASSPORT AT A VFS CENTER DIFFERENT FROM WHERE YOU HAD YOUR BIOMETRICS.when going to VFS, go with a photocopy of your passport bio-data page (2 photocopies each for every passport you're submitting with your application), [/s]your PPR letter duly filled out (you will fill the height and eyes color part), international passport, and the fee of N7780 (ONLY THOSE IN LAGOS ARE FORCED INTO PAYING). SMS charge to notify you when your passport is stamped is N780 (not necessary, chances of you not getting a notification is high) VFS Consent form( Not entirely necessary) subject to verification N7780 for passport transmission is still valid FOR THOSE SUBMITTING IN LAGOS 5 Likes 5 Shares |
