I'm a student in a Nigeria university and I have an option next 4 semester of selecting from either
1. Power systems
2. Electric Machines and drives
3. Electronics and Telecommunications
4. Control and Instrumentation
5. Powerline communications

My reason for asking this early is that I want to get textbooks, and perhaps online materials to begin preparation for the world after graduation.
I want to stay and revolutionise the world of electrical engineering till my very last day on earth, I want to invent and do unprecendented things (THE KEY WORD IS 'INVENT' AND CONSQUENTLY ALSO MY MAIN INCENTIVE). I don't want to make a mistake, I just want to read and also work my arse off to immensely help technology.
Please advise, I've tried Google for some help, but couldn't find any.

Whichever one your interest lies on most

My advice for you is to simply research for each of the options you listed and find where your interest lies.

Am also an engineering student.
What I like from what you listed is electronic and telecommunications.
