I really don't know the appropriate section I should post this.
I bought a new Hisense freezer and I expected it to be froze free... instead I can see some little ice inside... other than that it seems the bottom of the freezer has no element to make it freeze.

The problem is this:
There hasn't been light for a while so I've been running the freezer with generator.

When I complained about the notice error.. the seller asked me to run the freezer for 15 hours straight first.
He also asked me to buy sterbilizer

I've not been chanced to run the freezer for that long because man must go to work..
And I don't have additional 18k to buy stabilizer..

My worries now is on my 80k freezer that defrost in 2 hours..

Am I just being worried or there's actually something to be worry about?
Thank you all.

Thanks to everyone for your contribution...
It's 4:00 pm now and I've on the freezer since 8:00 AM with my Generator... till now no element of ice... probably because it's loaded...
I plan to leave the gen on till 10:00 pm...
Whatever happens ,I will keep you guys updated.

What do you mean by you expected it to be froze free,
The freezer is faulty, most modern fridge don't need stabilizer to operate , they work well with low to high volts,

Return it. It's a faulty freezer. Most Nigerian sellers are greedy & corrupt. They'll know a product is faulty but will still package and sell hoping to capitalize on a customer's ignorance or fear of returning.

We had similar issues with a freezer last year and returned it. Return it.

pol23, calm down esp with your 'agbero mode' (lol). Look before you leap so you dont make yourself a laughing stock where you bought the said freezer.
I mean run the freezer for straight 10 to 15hours with the recommended voltage and see if it will meet your expectation or not before you blame Hisense or the seller.
From my first Hisense deep freezer experience in 2014, I re emphasize that you both buy a stabilizer for the right phcn voltage and run the freezer for those length of hours with a generator to supplement power failure.
I had this same experience but managed to endure for a year till rent expired (mind you, i used gen 3 hours per day to run the freezer).
But when i moved to an area with more phcn power supply (18 - 20hours per day), OP thesame freezer had to be switched off for long hours before a frozen content can be removed.
Let me add that i have never repaired this freezer since then till date. Hisense rocks bro.
Finally if you cannot move to areas with more power supply, invest in a gen set and run it for long hours (say 6hours per day for a week) to confirm the power and durability of your hisense freezer before you complain. OP, remember that i am speaking from my Hisense experience. I can upload pics of my Hisense freezer as proof at your request. Cheers

I guess the election date will be the right day to run Gen for 10 hours + .
I will do just what you said....
I will be back with feedback .

I had similar problem when I wanted to buy a refrigerator sometimes back. But I knew I wasn't going to buy Hisense, it has to be Haier Thermocool even though it's more expensive. At the end of the day I didn't even Thermocool again, I bought LG and that's simply because the thermocool I wanted wasn't available, often items it's always good to buy brand that've been tested over the years than all these new products. I think the only item Hisense has been able to do very well is their TV. I hope there's a final solution to your freezer.

Its a NO NO bros. Nothing like that is callee a standard practice on a new freezer. If he opens the compresor compartment there is always an inbuilt fan there. The freezer the dealer sold to him is faulty maybe from factory error.

Try the 10hrs+ idea and i hope its turns out positve but i still maintain it that the freezer he sold to you is a faulty one. 5hrs for my chest freezer will serve me for 3 to 4 days with contineous opening and closing.

The question to ask here guys is if the freezer was put on empty or had water and some other items.

It's simple. A freezer that works for some hours with water in containers and other items that have gotten frozen would keep and remain colder for longer than one that is empty that has worked for same number of hours new or not.

Same way a better insulated freezer would keep longer as well, looking at the insulation quality here

One more thing.. What capacity is your generator? We all know if the capability of the freezer is more than the generator it would not freeze properly or it would take longer to reach full operating capacity.

Las Las if all these points have been noted and inline and good to go but still not freezing or operating well bros na to return am. Delay is dangerous if not you will be turninonyourown grin

Before you return, check: what did you load in the freezer to test it? An empty, semi-empty freezer will defrost very fast no matter how good it is. It is the content that retain the cold. Try filling with bags of pure water to say, half way and test again.

Run that freezer for approximately 10 to 12 hours before you can confirm the condition. If after running it for that number of hours and you still experience the same thing, then return the unit.

The reason why i advice you run it that long is because i experienced the same thing even though with a used German brand. When i bought it, it was working well and items put in it becomes rock cold even bottles were breaking. But i abandoned it for up to 3 yrs without usage and when i went back to it, it was no longer the same.

I contacted a technician that came for inspection and what he told me was that there's an internal leakage that there's no gas again in it after running it for 4 hours. I was budgeting funds for repairs when another technician told me to run the unit for 12 hours. I decided to give it a trial and behold, the unit came back to life.

May be the unit you bought have stayed for a while in the store so it requires working for a while even though i am not a fan of that brand but try that first and if situation remains same, return unit and get a more trusted brand.

Again, ignore the stabilizer for now. Most modern freezer have an inbuilt voltage regulator in it that can work well even if the voltage drops to 180. Thermocool and LG are some of them. Good luck

I don't know much about material,I can't say if the lagging or insulation is good...
But I will load it with 10 bags of pure water tomorrow....
I will be back with the result.

3.8 horse power generator is a small gen bro. Check the ratings of the freezer and compare it with the generator capacity and I'm sure you will most likely still on your usual gadgets while you still expect that same generator to still effectively power the freezer
