Five locally made guns have been intercepted by worshippers near Kofar Gayan, Zaria Juma’at mosque, ahead of the 2019 elections.  The guns which were concealed in a sack and hidden close to the mosque, was discovered by worshippers who alerted others before it was intercepted. An eyewitness who spoke to Daily Trust, said; 

“We called the police and when they came, we insisted that the guns should be counted. It was after the counting that we discovered that they were five with live cartridges. The police have taken them away.”

However it was learnt that the state’s police spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.
