The Lagos State Government has effected change in the School Calendar following the postponement of the scheduled election dates by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Her Excellency, Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule who made the decision public said all public and private schools should resume on Monday 18th February, 2019 as against Tuesday 19th February, contained in the earlier reviewed calendar.

She informed all the Lagos State School stakeholders and the general public that all schools in Lagos state are expected to close on Friday 22nd of February and resume on Monday 25th.

Adebule said the second leg of the break will be on Friday 8th March, 2019 and schools are expected to resume on Monday 11th March, 2019.

All public and private schools, school leaders and school associations are implored to take note and adhere strictly to the new School Calendar.

This measure is to ensure that the academic development and future of the pupils and students of the State are not compromised by the alteration of the election time table.

Parents whose kids are far from Lagos and are in boarding houses?

Why Tuesday in the first instance and not Tuesday after the postponement? This is poor thinking from the LASG
This is not wisdom at all, though this is not unexpected of a government headed by a weakling.
Schools should not resume by Monday but Tuesday because results announcement would enter into Monday at least.

Rubbish!!!

Resuming Monday instead of Tuesday with this kind of notice? Can't they just allow the pupils resume on Tuesday as planned?

The Monday work won't be serious because many pupils will still not come that very day. They should av allowed them to resume Tuesday as planned then give all amendment

First and foremost, there is no break. It's the usual Saturday and Sunday.

Second, LASG should know better. Schools should resume Tuesday instead of Monday as the election results may be announced on Monday morning. Looking at the situation of things now, one has to be cautious with the lives of our young people.
