Ikeja Electric one of the two Power Distribution Companies in Lagos State has devise a new way of stealing from their unsuspecting customers in the areas under their control. Apart from giving estimated bills that is above what their customers consumed per month. What the do now is that when a Transformer break down they shut it down completely and told the host community that it needs total overhaul. They will tell them to exercie patience that the transformer will be taken to their workshop for repair and then returned. But what happened is that a month, two months even three months will pass and it will not be repaired. When they know their customers are tired of waiting, the will now tell them to contribute money for the repair of their transformer. The people out of frustration will task themselves to contribute money. Each compound will pay N20,000, while churches, mosques, schools and office buildings will contribute N30,000 each. The minimum amount the will accept for the repair is N800,000.

Even when the company has released the money from the head office, the pocket it and task users of the transformer to contibute money. When the finish eating the money the look for another Transformer to shut down and collect money from the users. This is what is going on now all over Alimosho Local Government from Agodo Egbe to Ikotu Egbe to Igando and other parts of Lagos under their control. Right now two Transformers has been shut down at Agodo Egbe and the are waiting for the users to get tired of waiting and contribute thousands of naira for the repair. This is Phycological warfare they are playing on their customers.

I hope the Management of Ikeja Electric will rise up and stop their Regional Offices to desist from these wicked and criminal activities before things get out of hand.

I agree with what the of is talking about, especially around that Alimosho area. Ikeja Electric is constantly robbing people in that area.
