People.com confirmed with Lady Gaga’s rep on Feb. 19 that Gaga and her fiancé, the Hollywood agent Christian Carino, had broken up. “It just didn’t work out. Relationships sometimes end,” the rep told People. “There’s no long dramatic story.” People also noted that they split “a bit ago,” which fans had already speculated was the case.

At the Grammys on Feb. 10, fans noticed that Gaga wasn’t wearing her engagement ring at the ceremony; Peoplealso reported that she didn’t thank Carino when she gave her speech for winning a Grammy for “Shallow,” her duet with Bradley Cooper in A Star Is Born.

Lady Gaga and Carino first sparked dating rumors in early 2017, when they attended a Kings of Leon concert together. Later, they were seen kissing at the 2017 Super Bowl. That summer, Us Weekly reported that they got “secretly” engaged. As an agent, Carino has worked with people like Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez and Miley Cyrus.
